Lacks the unapologetic sense of purpose found in Coheed's three records prior. It's catchy, it's fun, it's clean, but it just doesn't have any of those real band-defining moments. It needs what SSTB has in "Everything Evil," what In Keeping Secrets had in "The Crowing," or what the previous album had pretty much the entire "Willing Well" suite.

I enjoyed the sound on this album a lot better. It's a great listen overall and thematically, it felt like the end of a storytelling era for the band.
Kinda disappointing compared to volume 1
Really feels like the artistic integrity was compromised in order to create an accessible album, none of the songs are bad and some are really catchy but as a sequel to the previous album this one falls flat

This was the first Coheed album I ever heard... is there any confusion as to why I got hooked on these guys? This album is nearly perfect.
This album makes me want to fall asleep, and not in a good way. No World for Tomorrow and Mother superior are standouts on an otherwise uninspired and uneventful album.
