Haven't really done a review in a while so why not this album! I don't really listen to any jazz so take all of this with a grain of salt.

Matana Roberts' Coin Coin series is always one I've found fascinating, though never had the ability to sit through 4 hours of avant garde Jazz. The whole idea of telling a story not even in a whole album, but across multiple albums is so interesting. This lacked a lot of the charisma and 'rawness' that made the first coin coin chapter so fantastic and powerful.

'Mississippi Moonchile' is definitely the installment to get lost in, with the most progressive and soothing tracks.
