This is Death Cab for Cutie at their best; many of their most quality songs of their career are on this album, and it stands up as an album better than anything else they've made. Ben Gibbard's lyrics hardly ever grate here, and are instead usually gorgeously introspective, and he manages to throw in some supremely infectious indie tunes as well.
