A Red Hot Chili Peppers album does not need to be 2 and a half hours long.

Legend has it this album is still going.

After an album where at least half the songs sounded retread'y or below average in quality the last thing you'd expect/hope for would be an unwieldy double album to follow next - but with 'Stadium Arcadium' (yup, that's the title they settled on) this is what we're confronted with.

'Dani California' is exactly the opener you'd have anticipated, continuing the lineage of 'Around the World' and 'By the Way', so it's only with the arrival of track two that alarm bells start to ring - in ... read more

In my very humble opinion, consistency is one of the most underappreciated aspects of music. An artist/group can put out one solid record among many and still receive praise (very common in the modern mainstream). The same can be said in the context of tracklists. This statement leads me to Stadium Arcadium.

By 2006, the Chili Peppers were in their 24th year as a band. Writing this in 2023 (round it up to 2024), it's absolutely baffling to consider they are currently in their 42nd year and ... read more

In under no circumstances should this have been a double album. If it was reduced to 12 or even 15 of the best tracks it would be their best project to date. On tracks like "Snow (Hey Oh)" they sound as inspired as they've ever sounded, hell "Wet Sand" might be my favorite song of theirs to date, but this album is 28 tracks long. For every great track, there's a track or two that could have been cut and either nothing would have been lost or the album would have been better ... read more

Stadium Arcadium is the last RHCP I own in my CD collection. I have really enjoyed re-listening to the band and I may look at the other releases at another time. It was interesting to see how the band has change their style over a 20 year period and mature lyrically and musically.

On the record, it is a double album, therefore by RHCP standards its more a double album and a half. You can’t accuse RHCP of not giving the punters their money’s worth but this album does feel far too ... read more

The Chili Peppers stretch themselves thin with an exhaustive track list, yet the highlights are still some of their most impassioned and sticky tracks to date.

Standout Tracks: Dani California, Snow (Hey Oh), Wet Sand

Stadium Arcadium is unnecessarily long, but really nice. Wet Sand and Snow (Hey Oh) are great.

Red Hot Chili Peppers at their peak.
This album really connected with me, and it's one of the first albums that really got me into music during last year.
I don't think it's perfect, but it's incredibly smart and well thought, the songs have so much soul and power, and the peppers are literal masters with their instruments. It really amazes me. I adore everything in this album. It includes some of my favorite moments of this genre.

This album has so many strong points and very little weak ones. Cut out maybe 5 tracks and this could be a near perfect album. The first half of this double album is the better but both are great. On the album before this (By The Way) Frusciante took it back with his guitar work to a cleaner tone and his solos were more about making it simple but very affected. On this there are a lot more distorted guitars and fast heavier solos and its amazing. Awesome album overall.
Best tracks: Dani ... read more

Holy shit, NO BODY WANTS TO LISTEN THROUGH A TWO AND A HALF HOUR LONG CHILI PEPPERS RECORD. I love the peppers, but damn, way too fucking long. Lets talk about the some of the songs I love “Dani California”, “Snow (Hey Oh)”, very catchy and some of their best. The other songs are pretty good or decent. Nothing thats really bad, just its so dragged out. Overall its a good album, just way way too long

Bopland.

(A bit too long though, maybe 20-30 minutes less, would’ve been great).

"Stadium Arcadium" is a sprawling double album that showcases the band's range and versatility, with a mix of funk, rock, and ballads. The album's standout tracks, including "Dani California," "Snow (Hey Oh)," and "Tell Me Baby," demonstrate the band's exceptional musicianship and songwriting, with John Frusciante's intricate guitar work and Flea's bass lines anchoring the band's sound. The album's ballads, such as ... read more

Red Hot Chili Peppers create a cosmic double album, with way too many songs on it. None of the songs suck, the worst songs are just average RHCP songs. The “Jupiter” half of the album has all the hits, the “Mars” half of the album has some deep cuts, deep space cuts. It’s fun, fuck you.

Too much tracks, but it's Red Hot Chili Peppers.

There's enough great songs on this album for an absolutely stellar 45 minute album. Instead, we got this overlong, bloated-ass mess.

This was the album by RHCP that caught my attention when I was first not-so-cherry-picking my music taste. This is by no means a great album. In fact, it's rather boring and nothing interesting. Dani California and Snow are the only tracks I cared about then and they're the only songs that make it to just below "meh" level for me now.

4 years after the release of By the Way, they've really step up their game back up with this project; it may be very extensive, but the quality is truly there; some of my favorite cuts of the Peppers are here: 'Stadium Arcadium', 'Tell Me Baby' and of course 'Wet Sand', this song is so magical, it's a grandiose build-up to the electric guitar solo at the end and I cannot get enough of it. I prefer this one than By the Way personally, it feels like they're in control and they're driving the ... read more
