Carrion Crawler/The Dream showcases the full-band version of Thee Oh Sees at the height of their powers.
The group outdo themselves by being just as succinct while demonstrating an even greater sense of accessibility for their often bizarre, always intricate blend of noise.
The album takes a while to get going and figure out what it wants to do, but diving into Thee Oh Sees’ world reveals one of their better efforts yet.
Not sure why but for me this LP was very much category is Supergrass inspired realness.
Essential track - Chem-Farmer
osees marathon continues
finally onto the magnum opus. it really is just everything from the previous albums combined into one really great project. every song bangs and the whole album captures the garage and psychedelic rock sound really well. a very tight 40 mins with some of the best songs of their entire discog on here. very noisy and very fun.
A pretty enjoyable album. It's nothing too special but it was fun to listen to.
Favorite track: Carrion Crawler
Least favorite track: Robber Barons
In my opinion this is where they probably peaked and remains their best album along with Floating Coffin, in the ocean of great and good (and some mediocre too) stuff they've done these past two plus decades or so. Still a fantastic record after all these years.
