Nothing’s Gonna Change… is ultimately the kind of album you can curl up into, let the warm tones surround you and rest easy
An album where Earle is not writing the strongest songs of his career musically but lyrically he is as good as he has ever been, if not better.
It’s a watered-down Earle, perhaps more than we’d expect, but it works.
The warm, gauzy sounds here invite deeper exploration, and instead Earle gets in and gets out all too quickly.
I think this is the best album of 2012. Easily listenable, perfect grooves. JTE is secure enough to not try to do too much musically, and the lyrics are the best he's ever written.
