The Russian Wilds is hardly going to shock you to the core, but it’s a more than able record by one of the most consistently strong groups in its genre.
If anyone wanted a crash course in 70′s album-oriented rock, The Russian Wilds is it.
The Russian Wilds strives for timelessness, but sounds temporally adrift.
With ace producer Rick Rubin on their side, Howlin Rain could – and should – have made an entirely different record.
