Like all the best love affair it endures, and reveals new sides of itself with each listen.

While this new album lacks the immediate warmth of its predecessor there’s much pleasure to be had wallowing in its rich patterns.

Rooms Filled with Light offers an ideal precursor to spring as the band’s blossoming and gilded sound shines beautifully throughout the 12 tracks.

Fanfarlo are now creating music that is more fitting of their age, complete with indie pop formats and an unashamed love for 80s college rock.

Fanfarlo have certainly evolved since their debut and showcase more understanding for textures and intricate details in their music.

At its absolute best, it’s an exhilarating listen, and at its worst, it does nothing but reveal a band even more promising than originally thought in an extremely strong transition.

Rooms Filled With Light is friendly and nondescript, but so are the vast majority of the people you unconsciously encounter on a daily basis
