It’s spirited, energetic and competent power-pop.

This record is rich in craft—from songwriting to intricate arrangement to whatever the spirit is that lifts certain music into inspiration.

There's nothing here that's particularly ear-worm-worthy, which, I think, was one of his most valuable traits as a songwriter.

The most disappointing aspect of Go Fly a Kite is that it sounds so satisfied, almost smug, in its complacency.
