Where Black And White sagged in spots, Lex is a snug, stimulating fit.

With Lex Hives they not only add further credence to their reputation, they also spit in the respective faces of their many lesser contemporaries.

If you’re a stickler for this review business, let it be said that ‘Lex Hives’ is amazing

As a whole, Lex Hives serves the same purpose as just about every Hives album thus far: dance, let yourself go, and have a good time

Much like the band’s catalog, this record apes everyone from AC/DC to The Stooges with exuberant aplomb.

.. a pretty fun romp of all the things that make The Hives so loveable.

Lex Hives sadly conforms to the patchy-at-best trajectory of the band's major label releases

As much as they’ve tried to sound like their dragging their sound back to basics, it sounds like they’ve lost something along the way.

The bigger issue than the directionless nature of the album is the way-too-clean production.
