Zeus has become more focused and, in turn, more enjoyable; this is the one that’ll bring the band’s sound into its own.
While the performances, production, and arrangements on Busting Visions are uniformly excellent, the songwriting is not.
For all the sugary melodicism and tight songwriting, it’s difficult to find anything about the album, or Zeus for that matter, that will stand out and touch you in any meaningful way.
The finished product is woefully unadventurous, greedy in what it borrows, and traditional bordering dangerously on cliche.
Sure it's pleasant and often melodic, but not in a way that resonates or provokes any kind of deep thought or emotional response.
