After the slog that was the first track, I was expecting to be disappointed... "Shook" is a dull introduction to what this album truly has to offer; a quirky combination of hardcore and sludge metal that is innately unique to Dope Body.
I know this is gonna sound like a totally crazy comparison, but this genuinely felt like Swans and Jeff Rosenstock coming together to make a full length record of some of the most crushing, heavy and imaginative fusions of sludge metal, noise rock and garage punk imaginable
The production is a little distorted and messy, but it only adds to the sheer bluntness of the riffs and vocals present on all 9 songs on this pretty short LP

Natural History, as a hardcore record, checks all the boxes for what makes an album like this stand out. It's unique, powerful, and varied throughout.
This thing rocks! It's one of those albums where I never seemed to know what the band will come up next as I gleefully waited for the next track to start. They managed to make every different style and every switch-up work for me and I really enjoyed the fun and exciting rollercoaster ride that is this album
