Fortune is, like his previous post-Rihanna albums, the unmistakable work of the same petty, violent-tempered hardhead that the tabloids have documented so well.
To the sober mind, Fortune is another overload of poor decisions just as Brown’s previous two albums have been.
Fortune is the kind of record that will please Brown's many deluded female fans, but we cannot with good conscience give it a single star.
There are some awful, awful moments on Fortune. I don't want to waste much time on them. Instead, how about the good moments? Surprisingly, there are a few that almost save the record. "Turn Up the Music" is perfect. "Don't Wake Me Up" is decent (apart from the daft lyrics). "Stuck On Stupid" is interesting, at least. His personality has improved a LITTLE, but not much, so the record is trapped by his public image. However, it's honestly not that bad of a record. Just not very good, really.
