This balance of radio-friendly R&B and piano ballads bursting with her irrefutable talent is a road frequently traveled for this singer, but it’s oh-so-entertaining to watch her set the road ablaze.

Upon first glance there's an absence of radio singles on Girl On Fire, but aside from the strained vocals on the title track, A.Keys has delivered a subdued album.

What Girl On Fire is missing is the singles — either lovelorn or self-empowered — that helped carry Keys’ early albums.
