CRITIC REVIEWS

75
BEATS PER MINUTE

It shimmers and ripples with laser-point synths and trebly squelches that play tag with the echoing, elastic beats, always turning in on themselves, waiting for just the right time to burst forth and consume everything around them.

70
UNDER THE RADAR

Elemental Themes borrows sounds and ideas from the sci-fi soundtracks of yesteryear but gives them an organic heart.

63
PITCHFORK

Elemental Themes is a record that really only works on one basic pleasure principle, which is to cram as much B-movie imagery into your head as possible.

POPMATTERS

Overall, this release is a bit hard to take seriously because of its intention: is this actually dead earnest or some kind of past-tinged joke?
