Mowgli is an unexpectedly mature, genre-slashing work from a natural-born talent.
The themes and imagery on Mowgli are articulated and tied together with an intense focus and surprising maturity — the kind of drive that apparently comes from isolated study of the inner self.
Too often Mowgli feels like a series of exercises, its mantra-like repetitions eventually rendering themselves somewhat directionless.
It's an okay album. Not bad, not great. Just okay.
