Intense, painfully frank, hysterically funny, and in the end, exultant... OSIGTS isn't always an easy listen, but it does offer a fearless experience that invests pop with more theatricality than the form can usually tolerate.
One Day I'm Going To Soar still feels like a triumph, in spite of its transparent flaws.
I really can't tell where this album came from, but, what I can tell is that it caused me, almost, the same excitement that I had when I first heard their unique debut.
This was the band's first album in 27 years, they renamed themselves to just Dexys, and this album is really more of a soul and jazz fusion album. I think it's pretty safe to say that this was much better than I expected.
