I don't know why this album is so good. It's understated. No track immediately jumps out, but each fan likely has their favorites. She plays with ridiculously unique pace changes and can sometimes fit 3 different songs into 1. Somehow it all works. Oh, and it makes the perfect background music.

It's hard to deny how little Lucy Rose stands out: she's not the best songwriter, the best vocalist, the best entertainer, but that's okay; here, her insular, contained songs are quiet victories of their own, holding — but never boasting — a modest charm.
