As a Colombian, I don't find this as revolutionary or amazing as some foreign people may think this is. Since growing up in Colombia makes you listen to (almost daily) songs that could easily have inspired this piece, so, more than an authentic record, I see this as a collection of recurring sounds in the Colombian music scene.

Ondatrópica's music is a great example of pure mastery of music. Every note of the horn or bongos or steel drum is perfectly timed and perfectly placed. As if it was Latin Math Rock this music was engineered to be as perfect as possible.

Little Bites:
An unexpected record to me, a latin album that's mostly instrumental that's densely layered with instrumentals that flirt with latin beats showing different variations of how Jazz and Cumbia can come together to make a beautiful project celebrating latin sounds in music, it's genuinely such a nice project, despite it's runtime being over an hour. Give this a listen if you can!
