After hearing Pile’s 2017 album A Hairshirt of Purpose, I HAD to hear more. I’ve had that shit on reeeeepeat it’s so earwormy. Dripping came a bit before, and is a really solid addition to their catalog that takes a bit of a different turn. It’s raw and it’s aggressive. Don't really have a whole lot to say about this other than it's just a really good exercise in subtlety, displaying power without necessarily being too extreme.
I feel like a lot of classic rock albums are anchored by 2-3 legendary songs that really give that album it's "classic" status. This isn't purely a phenomenon in rock music, but it was excessively common in the genre for many decades.
