Distorted Sound

All Our Gods… stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the creative Behemoths of modern heavy music and will certainly be one of the year’s highlights.

This is heady and hearty stuff delivered by a band surveying the ruins below from their creative peak.

Exclaim!

If All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us was an Olympic gymnastic performance, it would have nailed the double backflip but stumbled just a bit on the landing, leaving onlookers blown away by the trick and barely remembering that last wobble.

Now on album number seven, the Brighton juggernauts have well and truly hit their stride.

There’s something very human at the heart of this inhuman noise.

Emotions are elevated by Sam’s almost pained vocal delivery, but the whole album feels exceedingly sad from the passing of guitarist Tom Searle shortly after the album was released. Tom was the primary songwriter for the band, and nearing death, seemingly put all he had into “AOGHAU”. It’s ... read more
