For Kavinsky, B-grade electronic '80s gunk is rocket fuel, and it makes Outrun soar.
A long-incubating debut, but Outrun proves to have been well worth the wait.
Outrun is exactly what it aspires to be: a fun retro-pop-dance album for those who like to drive fast through cities at night, perhaps behind a pair of sunglasses.
Kavinsky's 2013 album Outrun is a limited listen with a handful of highlights that were made available previously, but such is life for the fast and futuristic.

I’m taken aback by the lack of ratings on this album.
I’m both surprised but also not about the fact that SebastiAn produced a majority of this album. If you’ve listened to his album Total you can hear OutRun has a very similar style just the aggression is pulled back for the 80’s synths and aesthetic and be brought forward.
OutRun doesn’t come close to how good Total is for me, I feel a lot is lost in the whole 80’s homage. I guess what I’m saying is ... read more
