NME

Because a grand and fabulous mode of theatre pervades everything about this band, you’re often a few degrees off completely connecting.

throughout the record Hurts never seem far away from becoming synonymous with dramaticism

Exile is found wanting when they try too much to be the stadium band rather than allowing the drama to play out.

PopMatters

Hutchcraft and Anderson offer up some decent ideas, but too often Hurts’ music doesn’t sound far enough removed from whatever else is in the Top 40 on any given week.

Drowned in Sound

These big, slick slabs of black ice pop will wallpaper every tear-jerking vampire flick or poignant sporting moment that matters over the next two years.

the songs that i liked were only good because of qualities that didn't seem like failed experiments. the song help, for example, only succeeds by virtue of it sounding like the second part of fix you by coldplay. ... read more

Exile é um dos melhores trabalhos que eles já colocaram no mundo, é estiloso, obscuro, melodramático e possui uma atmosfera pra lá de cativante. Ah, e a faixa-título é definitivamente minha música favorita da carreira.

Fav tracks: Exile, Blind, Cupid, Mercy, Miracle e Sandman

Hurts at it's best
For me Exile is the best album of the synth-pop duo. Not like their newer releases, practically every song on this album is very enjoyable.

The album as a whole creates a brilliant atmosphere that catapults me back to my golden days of youth. It makes me feel the boundless freedom, the stupid love stories and the heartache due to stupid decisions.

Fav Tracks: Blind, The Rope
