The Young Folks

For the second consecutive year, Jepsen has released a winning, fun, brilliant collection of pop music that deserves to take the world by storm. Side B is easily one of the best releases of 2016 so far and a perfect companion to E•MO•TION.

Entertainment Weekly

It’s a succinct package, brimming with more infectious tales about broken hearts, getting friend zoned, and male crushes who are always out of reach.

AllMusic

Even if it's not as full of surprises as the original album was, E-MO-TION [Side B] might be even more cohesive -- and should delight fans of perfectly crafted pop just as much.

Side B is a sumptuous collection of upbeat bangers and moodier fare, everything tinted with just the right amount of nostalgic positivity

It's shimmering, lush pop tailor-made for these final nights of summer.

The Needle Drop

Canadian pop songstress Carly Rae Jepsen comes through with a surprisingly pleasing EP of leftovers from her latest album, Emotion.

Pitchfork

Side B is less a collection of b-sides than it is a continuation of last year's full-length smash, heart-swelling and heart-draining pop that exists in worlds just before or after love.

The hits that sound so easy are anything but, and with Emotion Side B, Jepsen has the evidence to prove it.

Why the fuck are these B-Sides almost all of them are better than the tracks on the original. This is true top tier synth-pop.

Brief Review: Not quite as consistently amazing as the A-Side of the album, but these B-Sides still have that fun carefree energy that made the OG album so special for me. Makes sense why some of these were cut from the album, but still, a fun little extension.

at least as good a collection of tracks as any seminal 80s pop album, it is largely theorized of course that carly spent a day in 1985 chilling with morten harket at a sleezy pool hall before making this
