This album is interesting as it uses T.I.’s three different personas so much, which is great, but that has led to the album being all over the place, whether it’s T.I. writing some of his deepest songs reflecting on his life, massive hits, or some of T.I.'s hardest and best rapping performances. Which is probably why I personally get more enjoyment from his previous album "T.I. Vs. T.I.P." because it wasn’t as messy. Yet with that being said, compared to his previous ... read more
Paper Trail can be described as an album of trios in its 16 track list that deftly comprises three personas of TIP , TI and Clifford . You can literally take three songs such as the first three songs and one persona is performing the three and so on and so forth . It’s honestly a genius rap album and I find it so highly underrated.
It really is one of my fave hip hop albums. What makes a great hip hop album is luxuriant hefty beats , crazy clever rhymes and an ethos that communicates a ... read more
pretty enjoyable, but I don't like the commercial route he took after Trap Muzik. It's more like Radio Muzik.
Trying to review all the albums I heard before joining AOTY so I feel better about the idea of listening to new music #24:
This album has aged pretty poorly. A clear attempt at commercialism, besides a handful of tracks, there's no substance to this album. The lyrics are corny and bare-bones, the production aged like shit, and T.I.'s voice is influential to all the wrong artists. Probably not worth your time as it's almost 75 minutes long with only around three good songs.

Although T.I. may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer in terms of technical ability, he's been one of the realest and most charismatic MCs in the game for a while now.
There is no shortage of bangers on this album. On Top Of The World, Live Your Life, Whatever You Like, My Life Your Entertainment, and Swagga Like Us are all hard tracks with dope production and some dope features from other rappers and singers. On the other hand, some of the realest songs on here cut deep such as Ready For ... read more
Underrated imo. Pretty honest at times but the downside is being corny and poppy. Full of bangers for sure tho.
Kinda regretting listening to this, really warped my perception on TI, but good thing this isn’t his best work so imma block this from my head for now
Unadulterated pure pop rap goodness. Sure some of the singles teeter in and out of corny territory, but T.I. surrounds them with enough of what made his several of his earlier albums memorable to make it worth checking out.

Full of triumphant bangers. While this album achieved the mainstream success it did, I still feel that the album wasn’t trying hard to do so. It just works. This album helped to usher in the wave of pop rap, and is truly one of the best in the subgenre.
Not even kidding when I say that there are literally no misses on this album. An important album for the hits it produced for the genre, and for its really great production and consistency. Slept-on.

Like most, if not every T.I. album out there, there's a fair bit of filler on this, but I feel this is still one of his better albums. The first three tracks are quality and the kind of songs that T.I. should create a whole album of - Good rapping and hard beats. A similar track in 'Every Chance I Get' is later on in the album also.
Then you have songs such as 'On Top of the World', 'Live Your Life' and 'My Life Your Entertainment' that I enjoy most of the verses but the weak choruses let ... read more
While T.I. achieved incredible commercial success with Paper Trail, it's hard to say he achieved the same level of success quality-wise. Whatever You Like stands out as one of the most 2008 song of all time. The synth-heavy, JIM JONSIN, produced track probably led many people to think that rap music would take that direction in the next few years, those people were wrong. The Drumma Boy style production lacks deviation. A lot of these beats feel like they could be on both a high profile release ... read more
Despite legal troubles & facing a prison sentence, T.I. reached the peak of his career as Paper Trail was released. Paper Trail is T.I’s most memorable & best selling album to date. T.I. was & still is a super confident & charismatic rapper, but this was the 1st time he showed true growth as an artist. The only gripe I have with this album is, there’s some filler.

6th LP from T.I., this was at the time when he was at the top of his career.
This album contains a lot of smash hits and mainstream radio songs. Most commercial album to date.
Album is phenomenal, it also includes some deep songs as well. I got a feeling, everything he was putting out as a single it was a hit.
Production is good, not good as the previous ones, he work with usual people with whom he works.
Sharp rhymes from T.I., he addresses some personal themes, there are some songs for the ... read more
