This is music with myriad dimensions and complex themes, but it never unravels or feels too heady.
Haw is fuller and more adventurous even than 2011’s Poor Moon, with a broader musical palette.
The many different musics on Haw are familiar, timeless; they can be endlessly recombined for new purposes.
Haw is a deeply satisfying folk album. With lyrics based in both spiritual and visceral feelings, and a classically folk sound pallet, the album is dense with emotion, and strong in songwriting. A true songwriter's delight, from beginning to end. Solid, real, and great.
