If you’re content to let him in, Here’s Willy Moon is an exciting debut from someone who’s trying to break the pop mould, several genres at a time.
The gimmickry of Moon’s music does prevent his debut from ever being labeled as great art, but it certainly doesn’t prevent it from being one of 2013’s most ecstatic, all-out fun albums.
It certainly won’t take up much of your time - the album is over in less than half an hour; but these short bursts are relevant, and at the same time retro
The general lack of content does offer fairly compromised value for money, and raises questions as to if he'll be able to think of ways to expand his repertoire without ruining the central conceit, or just end up being an oddball one trick pony.
Unfortunately, Willy can’t shake the stench of USP-gimmick.
maybe you guys May hate this dude, but if you listen random songs from this album/EP like "yeah yeah" (featured on forza horizon 1's legendary soundtrack), you can understand this album is deeply underrated
