Wack is more than just critical commentary, raunchy comedy, and greatest hits. It’s also a loving tribute to hip hop, giving nods to some of the cherished moments in the genre.
While a full album of the group’s material might be unnecessary now that so much of it is available elsewhere, having too much of a pretty good thing is never really all that bad.
It’s silly, it’s in no shape or form subtle, it’s fun, it works.
Most impressive about The Wack Album is that The Lonely Island manage to get their jokes across without feeling like they're making fun of rap which, given how much material they'd have by making fun of themselves, would really be a last resort.
