ORINGINAL (90) i am absolutely blown away by every single aspect of the vocals & instrumentation here

so here's a story, Steven Wilson did a show in my home town, about 2 years ago, a good friend of mine liked his work so I came with him, after the show ended I came up to him and he signed a print that I got in the venue, so I have a signed print of this picture, and I haven't heard a single song from him except the live performance, so that's that, the show was pretty good.
The opener "Luminol" starts with an odd mix of prog rock and (almost) jazz fusion elements. This and all the other tracks are really well performed, partly typically long prog rock cuts with reminicences of earlier prog rock bands as Pink Floyd or King Crimson, connections to art rock artists as Alan Parsons are also partly audible - that's not surprising because Alan Parsons co-operated as co-producer and recording engineer on The Raven That Refused to Sing (And Other Stories). I think luminol set my standards way too high because nothing else in the album even came close to how great that track was. But still overall, I think this album is really great and has some amazing song writing. However, I still prefer Wilson’s debut album over this one
My second ever prog rock album (first one being the dark side of the moon but i listened to it ages ago). This album is just beautiful man I know there's many polarizing opinions on this album, but I'm with the team that says this album fuckin slaps. I just love it, that simple.
