The Independent

The centrepiece of the album ... is the impressive “Solitary Daughter” ... It’s the standout track on an album heralding a talent as intriguingly fully-formed and distinctive, in its own way, as Marling, Mitchell and Bush.

Under the Radar

Neither a wasted note nor a moment of excess can be found on Bedouine. And in a time of gross artistic pretentions, it bares none of those things.

What she’s crafted here is a breezy, personal portrait of her life through finely orchestrated folk tunes - and it's nothing short of a stunning debut.

The Guardian

There is something so comforting about these songs – it’s like tuning into a lost radio station from the 70s, rich in nostalgia, innocence and the warmth of old analog instruments. One of the most understated and charming albums of the year.

Uncut
Warmth and easy elegance dominate, yet Korkejian's songs aren't without mood upsets.
80
Mojo
It's the insular intimacy of Korkejian's songs, like Zephyrs whispered in your ear, that make this debut such a triumph.
80
The Observer
Her authority is unquestionable: songs such as the Leonard Cohen-influenced Solitary Daughter give Laura Marling a serious run for her money.
80
Record Collector
An album aglow with a clear-eyed confidence in hushed, honeyed quietude.
80
Q Magazine
Disarmingly intimate songs.
80
Evening Standard
The further she ventures into this darker terrain, the more rewarding this becomes.

‘Bedouine’ is a debut that signposts good things to come but, perhaps more importantly, it still has plenty to offer in its own right. It’s a well written, compellingly honest album and one that deserves the attention of all those willing to give it time.

Pitchfork
The sound of the record is exquisite, breezing through about 40 minutes with an effortless charm.

Bedouine's (Azniv Korkejian) debut is a delight, drifting with the warmth and ease of a summer day and lightly hued with nostalgia.

Beautifully melancholic but soothing at the same time, bedouine's debut album oozes with heartfelt melodies and a fragile yet firm sense of being. The songwriting throughout is solid and bedouine's vocal performance, although at times one-dimensional, is very comforting and graceful. Aside from Nice and Quiet and Summer cold however i did not feel that any track was going to stick with me for a long time, this lends to a lower score,

Overall though, great project for those looking for a nice, ... read more

Really the instruments in here are very harmonized together and smooth and make you feel comfort and happy, her voice too is very good and she performed very well in here, the songs are well written and she gonna have a good future if she continuous with the same level. One of my fav. folk albums of this year. Awesome.
My Top 3 Songs are:
1- Nice and Quiet
2- Solitary Daughter

Soulful classic country and singer songwriter with good chamber instrumentation. Good songwriting. An album that doesn’t force you asleep because of boredom, but one that tucks you in and rocks you to sleep - instead of grog you get a pleasant rest for the mind

Maybe I also need to make a list for indie folk albums that are nothing but vibes at this point.

Very charming, beautifully orchestrated, sang gorgeously, very calming and soothing atmosphere. Idk what else to say.
