At least Uncanney Valley can be used as an example of what happens when you decide to pick back up something that's really (much) better off the way you left it.
I am a pretty big fan of The Dismemberment Plan, not just Emergency & I, so it honestly bums me out that the band returned for this album and faced such strong critical panning on this album that they disappeared again. It’s certainly their weakest album, but I don’t think it’s bad or offensive. It’s amazing to me just how good Travis’ voice still sounds here - he sounds the exact same as 12 years before.
