Halo Halo is captivating. Not because it's particularly melodic or accessible or lyrically apt or emotionally wrought, but because the band are adept at sculpting narratives.
The odd result is a record which, for all the snap and zip of its basic conceits, becomes quite bloated by its halfway mark.
