Paradise Valley actually hangs together better than Born and Raised, with songs that achieve a balance between Mayer's electric Eric Clapton influence and his softer James Taylor-inspired side.
Paradise Valley is simple blues and folk rock. Moose do be cute on the album cover. That interlude-like song with Frank Ocean was a pleasant surprise.
If Born and Raised was John's way of dipping his toes in the wilds of Montana, Paradise Valley is a headfirst dive. The instrumentation is as beautiful and intricate as ever, but a lot of the lyrical themes and folksy motifs get old pretty quickly, and 40 minutes starts to feel way too long.

A folky vibe which I loved. Underrated album in my opinion. The collaboration with Katy is probably the highlight of the album for me.
