18.

Cage the Elephant - Thank You Happy Birthday
January 11, 2011
Critic Score
70
24 reviews

Thank You, Happy Birthday is scruffier and more abrasive in all the right ways, making the previous effort sound nearly obsolete by comparison.

17.

Beady Eye - Different Gear, Still Speeding
February 28, 2011
Critic Score
59
25 reviews

It manages excess and grandeur far more gracefully than Oasis’ own overblown collection, Be Here Now.

16.

Wiz Khalifa - Rolling Papers
March 29, 2011
Critic Score
59
19 reviews

I think for most listeners, if Khalifa can't find a way to reconnect to his Kush & OJ and, to a lesser extent, his How Fly magic there wouldn't be any tears shed if he slinked back to the internet underground by this time next year and stopped bombarding the market with such limp tunes.

14.

Tori Amos - Night of Hunters
September 20, 2011
Critic Score
71
17 reviews

This predominantly slow, somber album ultimately overstays its welcome.

13.

If you’re contemplating buying an album called Sorry for Party Rocking, then let’s be honest: you know exactly what you’re getting into.

8.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You
August 30, 2011
Critic Score
65
29 reviews

It’s certainly a far more engaging album than anyone could have reasonably expected.

7.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way
May 23, 2011
Critic Score
70
28 reviews

Born This Way is one mighty confused pop album, fusing some daring songwriting with some remarkably repetitive themes and beats.

5.

Critic Score
47
10 reviews

4.

Tyler, The Creator - Goblin
May 10, 2011
Critic Score
71
28 reviews

A massive spoonful of marvelous hip-hop medicine, of the most unnerving, hyperreal humour you may well ever hear.

3.

Lupe Fiasco - Lasers
March 8, 2011
Critic Score
55
20 reviews

The man is posterchild, billboard and spokesperson for all that’s wrong with the major hip-hop industry.

2.

Chris Brown - F.A.M.E.
March 22, 2011
Critic Score
47
9 reviews

1.

Lou Reed & Metallica - Lulu
November 1, 2011
Critic Score

34 reviews

... they come out with what may be the most disappointing album in a decade.
