Adderley sure was hip - hip as can be. Recorded not long after meeting Miles Davis, Somethin' Else was a big deal for both musicians. This album is almost as much of a Miles Davis record as it is Cannonball Adderley's, as he selected most of the material for the album and takes a massive presence. Eye Know was sent to me on my stream. I loved it. One of the Most feel good songs I have ever heard.

I checked out the album with that track in mind for the experience. What I got was pretty much more or less what I expected, with twists that I was baffled by. Tons of goofy skits, incredibly creative sampling on every song, clean flows and cerebral lyrics. An intense flowery vibe for over an hour, embodying everything that makes 80s hip hop worth listening to.
