Although not the powerhouse that Drone Logic was in its subtle passageways and eternal staircases and even if a tad too long for its own good, Song for Alpha hits the sublime spots of the british producer's finecrafting. This is far from energetic and highly distinguishable electronic music, but works pretty well in immerging the listener in this fluid, neon-lighted universe of textures, colors and far-away echoes of memory and thought. Hypnotic and mesmerizing. Throughout its runtime it packs very strong 90s and early 2000s ambient techno aesthetic.

☆☆½ ~ I have some kind of ambivalence about the whole album concept. Lacks too much.

Sublime. Not sure how he could have made a better record. I thought Drone Logic was fairly broad and overrated. This, on the other hand, is endlessly enveloping and mature.
