The worst one can say about Musas, Vol. 2 is that it lacks the novelty factor of its predecessor. On just about every other account, it is just as delightful and lovingly curated a tribute as anyone could hope for.

In Musas Vol.1, Natalia delivered an amount of beautiful songs, influenced by the mexican folk movement, in which some of the songs are covers and other are original ones. All of them strongly connect with the cultural mexican folklore. Thereby, the second volume from Musas is wonderful as the previous one. If in Vol.1 the songs were more vibrant and colorful, on Vol.2 it's all gets more dark and shadowy, creating a unique mood to the album. Says something to me that despite not being able to understand the lyrics of this record as they come at me, I am still able to feel the emotion behind the songs. Great listen

From the beautiful vocals to the time-honored instrumentation, this album provides a modern and clean take on Latin American folk classics. I feel good saying Natalia has done these songs justice.
