If Kanye creates a new sound, if Clipping bring the noise, if those no longer with us drop the first ever collaborative mixtape from Heaven, ‘Veteran’ will still be one of, if not the most, substantial hip hop albums of 2018, that’s how damn good it is.
The Needle Drop

Veteran is sure to be one of the most in-your-face, off-the-wall and creative rap projects of 2018.

It makes for a breathless album, one that takes white-hot riffs and the most distasteful parts of our national politics, chops them up, and somehow scatters them perfectly into place.

What a fucking blast this album is: JPEGMAFIA grabs your attention off the bat and doesn't let go until you're left a beat up, overjoyed mess.
At the time of listening to this album for the 10th time, I'm going to personally give it a perfect score for its basic ability to keep me interested track after track whilst not boring me one bit with its noticeable experimental production. Some tracks can own a catchy flow but have the backing of its off the wall production that i didnt expect. Either you hear the influence of Sound cloud rap, and a Death Grips similar beat, it's on this masterpiece.
This album is such a joy to listen to for it's oddball style. The production throughout is weird, minimal, wonky, and sounds great. It's experimental hip hop, but this album is still fairly accessible. The lyrics on this album for the most part are about confrontation, usually full of very blunt, attacking lyrics directed towards people.
