Loud and Quiet

Each track is fully rounded and finessed, making this a beautiful record of gorgeous psychedelia-infused indie folk.

AllMusic

For a couple days working things out on the spot, Myths 003 came together almost perfectly and is a worthy addition to each band's impressive catalog.

Pitchfork

The third and best installment of Mexican Summer’s collaborative EP series pairs two soft-focus psychedelic bands to righteous effect.

The Line of Best Fit

The default sounds of the two bands are pretty disparate. However, there are enough shared interests ... to make the seven tracks on this 30 minute EP cohere into a seamless whole where it's quite hard to say where the genre barrier-busting jazz/prog/psych-rock of Dungen ends and the hazy, sunburnt folk-funk of Woods begins.

The "Myths" series in the past has been such a disappointment to me, often sounding like two acts thrown together and rushed to record. But here, Woods and Dungen actually get like half an hour of a recording together, and the result has some fantastic chemistry. More times than not, the Cosmic jams these two offer up are so concise that you forget this is a collaboration between two ... read more
