I could listen to this album all day long.

The beginning stretch of Middle Kids’ debut unfortunately sets the standard too high for the rest of the album, but damn if those opening three tracks aren’t a strong set of indie rock jams — particularly “Mistake,” which has echoes of Rilo Kiley’s “Portions for Foxes” and boasts an utterly irresistible chorus. It makes it more surprising when the rest of “Lost Friends” pivots into much more generic and forgettable territory. Too many ... read more

While it is clear that Middle Kids know how to write songs with solid pop hooks, this just feels like an uninspired indie rock record.
