Very well layered and textured song that sounds full of life unlike a lot of his solo work. This isn't Abel's or Kendrick's best performance, but the mean bass line is extremely satisfying to listen to. The bridge, which is a sample that has raised much dispute and a lawsuit, is absolutely stunning, as the cascading vocals besides the warping synth goes miraculously well with Abel's voice. The Weeknd, while still good, doesn't stand out from his other songs on this one.
Great song overall, they both work off of eachother; Weeknd delivering a strong singing hook (yes im a sucker for singing hooks in hip hop), and Kendrick giving us a decent verse, although definitely not as strong as other stuff he has put out. Production, while a bit lacking, is still fairly strong. Good song to get you hyped. 8.5/10
