NME

Clocking in at just 26 minutes, ‘Sway’ is a succinct but comprehensive statement from Styrke – one that demands attention and declares her as a musical tour-de-force.

PopMatters

For 26 minutes, Swedish singer Tove Stykre delivers the sound of perfect pop for today's youth. She also makes it sound like a threat.

Although the album unfolds a little in the homestretch, this is definitely one of the better pop records of the year. Aside from her slight reliance on heavy percussive moments to make a statement, Tove brings a lot of personality.

Rating: Average (55).

A very consistent electropop album, Sway is short, sweet and to the point. Each song has a good hook, some catchy synths and solid singing from Styrke. I was initially turned off by the length of this and seeing the liability cover on this but I have to say, this was the perfect choice. There's something muted or minimal about this that fits the short length and makes the songs a lot more enjoyable.
Faves: Sway, I Lied, On a Level (all bops!!)

It takes a good ear to take an already solid pop song ("Liability") and remix it into something better. Lorde tour mate Tove Styrke does so on her third album, Sway, an album that showcases a healthy balance between touching romance and dance beats. If anything, Sway provides an example that pure pop intended for the charts can be lively and refreshing instead of superficial and formulaic.

Rae Morris, US Girls, Kali Uchis, Kimbra and now this. 2018 is delivering quality pop music I didn't even know I wanted.
