The Green Album is, dare I say it, good???

I mean, it obviously doesn't check all of the boxes that Blue Album or Pinkerton fill, but it's still a fun listen when it's on. The back end may be a bit lacking but the peaks in the beginning make up for that with some of the best power pop songs of the early 2000s.

Favorites: Hash Pipe, Island In The Sun, Knockdown Dragout
Least Favorites: Glorious Day, Crab, Simple Pages
four songs on this album are great. the rest is boring as hell.
Weezer return after a near 5 year absence with the Green Album, and compared to their last two records the band play it really safe. This album just doesn't have the spark, the personality or the variation that Pinkerton and the Blue Album had and instead opts for playing very simple and basic alt rock songs. Legitimately sounds the same as Weezer, but the lyrics are far more generic this time. Still enjoyed it a considerable amount 🤷‍♂️

Wow, alrighty Weezer. What a drop compared to their first two records, but okay.

Let me just first say that this is not a bad album, hardcore Weezer fans, but this album also isn’t that great like Blue and Pinkerton. It really feels like a step down. Actually a few steps down.
