Listening to these songs in one sitting, you increasingly appreciate just how important The Cribs are. ‘Payola’ offers a compelling argument of the threesome as the most important and greatest UK band of the last ten years.

Putting them all together like this emphasizes how consistent their music has been over the years, and how well the way the Jarman brothers borrow and blend British and American indie elements has aged
Drowned in Sound
If you’re a newcomer this is the best possible introduction to a band that have been keeping indie-rock very much alive and kicking for a decade and counting.
This singles, B-sides and rarities compilation is a reminder that the Jarman brothers have been churning out some astonishingly pop-rock for almost a decade.
