fantasies is a fucking great album. i remember seeing them open for paramore never having heard of them, hearing them blast my ears out with "stadium love", and immediately going home after the show and listening to this album, and then all of their other albums. seriously great. in the world of indie/new wave crossovers this is a top 10 for sure.

This is the album that probably introduced you to Metric. It's their biggest sounding, catchiest, most streamlined release, and yeah, it's one hell of a pop record. Melodically straightforward and simple? Totally. Almost to a fault. But Emily Haines' vocal and lyrical presence is fucking magical and I dare you to give this a few listens and not find yourself jamming along to pretty much every song.
