While Mt. Joy have managed to attack each song with the requisite tools of the tonal folk-rock zeitgeist, the results feel a little too rote and middle-of-the-road for this debut to leave much of an impact.
While the album itself is a pretty mediocre and generic indie rock album that, i wont be coming back to any time soon, there are high lights. songs like Julia and Astro van, showed me the talent and creativity that Mt. Joy possess. So ill be listening out for Mt. Joy as i believe there is potential here for a pretty good indie rock band.
