I kinda think CTE is a bit of an overheated group imo, I’ve always liked them a lot. Their first record here is just really fun. Some really good hooks, raw production and pretty good songwriting. My favorite on here is definitely Tiny Little Robots, which has an awesome structure and melody. It just goes hard. Decent to good debut from Cage The Elephant. It's pretty hard-hitting and sometimes catchy, but there are a few messy production spots, and not every track lives up to the standards of some of the better ones. When pieced together, an average rock record is born.

This is probably Cage The Elephant's most boring album, very little to really highlight, aside from "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" which is one of the best indie-rock songs of the past decade if you ask me. Maybe "In One Ear" is a pretty great song too, but aside from that, the band's punch and interesting songs would go on to make even on their worst album "Thank You Happy Birthday" is still not present here.

Mid debut from CTE. I cringed at a few of the tracks. I go way back with some of these and I forgot why I used to love this so much. It's okay. But nothing too special.
