quirky folk from Big Thief guitarist/collaborator Buck Meek. he's a really good guy, so I'm happy the record turned out so well.

A sweet little record showcasing Buck's talents as a singer and guitarist. The songs are both homely and fun to listen to, the record's got a sort of clang to it that makes it really quite lovely.

With his self-titled debut, Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek steps out of an Adrianne Lenker-shaped shadow to deliver an impressive set of short, rustic folk tunes. Perhaps the most appealing element of this album is Meek’s distinctive songwriting voice. He pulls off a sly playfulness, delivered with enough wistful sincerity that he never sounds smarmy. In a saturated genre that tires easily, Buck Meek is extremely and delightfully slinky in every way.
