As someone who doesn’t go to live performances often at all, the general sound and approach of this Jeff Mangum live album made me feel like it was just a nice little Saturday night.

You go to chill out at the worn out country bar just a few miles down the street and gravel road. It’s pitch black outside, with very little street lighting, but you enter into the bar with a lot of familiar faces approaching to greet you. You refuse a glass of whiskey offered to ... read more

Before I post this, I want to say thanks to a few people. Obviously KIDSWITHGUNs and Inglume. You Two Crazy Sons of bitches. You guys are so great. The fact that we somehow managed to this blows my mind. Also the Madvillainy/Pinata discord. We truly are the puppet masters on this site. Rakksmells, A Creativename, Thomasny18, and Oreox4. Oh and the fucking music bot. I’ve never felt more proud to use this site than I do now. It’s an amazing place. And finally, thank you AOTY. Before ... read more

For many of us to this day, Jeff Mangum is a mythic figure. His surreal and nonsensical lyrics somehow managed to be the best antidote for those of us trying to make sense of this bizarre and confusing process called adulthood. The quirks and imperfections of Mangum's vocals are on full ... read more

Live At Jittery Joe’s combines all of my soft spots in music into one amazing album.

ITAOTS is currently my favourite albums (this changes frequently) and NMH is my favourite band (also subject to change). Now, combine these songs with a lo-fi style of recording, then tell me the fact that this is all LIVE, and you’ve instantly made one of my favourite albums. Literally *snap*. Just like that.

The very raw feel of the whole thing is what gets me the most. The fact that everything ... read more

Okey :)

OKEY :)

Hello everybody!

This is my review of "Jeff Magnum Live at Jesus Christ Jittery Jig Jam Joe's"!!!!!!

This album is uhhhhhhhh.... how'd you say.... beautiful. Jeff is like a really sweet guy who'd want to play his guitar and sing at your local coffee shop, and that's what I like about this live album. All of it is acoustic so it's quite raw. Throughout the entire album I've imagined myself in a coffee shop in 2001 sitting next to a warm fireplace with my hot ... read more
