Oscillating from lo-fi to hi-fi and asserting himself as a leading figure in tech house, the production on Aphelion reaches beyond what you'd expect from someone with a handful of tracks and EPs under their belt.
The producer lets sound and tone take centre-stage for a record that really feels immersive and fully fleshed out.
Aphelion reveals a new dimension to Weatherall's sound.
It didn't really entertain me that much. Everytime the beat switches or the sound evolves, it almost instantly reverts back to the original beat. This leaves each beat switch seeming less impactful. The EP is repetitive and can get boring. Overall, almost put me to sleep.
